Volunteer Recognition: Nominations and Awards

Every March, Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey holds a Volunteer Recognition Awards dinner. Volunteer Recognition gives all of us an opportunity to individually recognize and honor our Girl Scout volunteers who tirelessly give their time, talent and energy to our girls. Our volunteers help girls develop values to guide their actions and the foundation they'll need to make sound decisions to better their communities.

Volunteers deliver the Girl Scout mission in an environment where girls can thrive, develop to their full potential, and build the leadership skills they'll need to make the world a better place through programs such as:

  • S.T.E.M., Outdoor Learning, and Financial Literacy
  • Participating in council-wide programs
  • Journeys which culminate into take-action projects
  • Girl-lead learning by doing and cooperative learning experiences
  • Community development and cultivation
  • Understanding and practicing the values of inclusive behavior

Who can nominate or be nominated? Great question!

  • Any registered member can submit a nomination
  • Any registered member can be nominated
  • A team or committee can self-nominate themselves for the President's Award

Important Dates to Remember:

  • February 5, 2016: Last day to submit nominations
  • March 11, 2016: Nominees are notified
  • April 1, 2016: Last day to RSVP for dinner
