Learn More About Portraits in Leadership

There’s an old saying “you can’t be what you can’t see,” and at Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey, we believe that to be true.  That’s why we are so excited about Portraits in Leadership, a series of interviews where Girl Scouts interview female members of the United States Congress, to learn about their leadership journeys.

In this series of interviews, Members of Congress have been able to offer advice to Girl Scouts about the skills and character girls will need to develop in order to lead our world in the twenty-first century. Fun Fact: 70% of the women in the US Senate and 57% of the women in the House of Representatives are Girl Scout Alumnae. How awesome is that?

In Portraits in Leadership, girls were able to highlight both sides of the aisle, and regardless of where they sat, they all shared that the believed there was great value in having organizations like Girl Scouts helping girls develop their leadership qualities. You can check out all of the great videos here!

You can’t be what you can’t see—and with these women sharing their experiences with us—it’s easy to visualize ourselves in the White House!  We think you’ll agree.
