Explore Camp from Mountains to Shore

Ever wonder what girls at other camps do? Do they sing the same songs? Complete Kapers? Cook the same meals over the campfire?  Well, this summer campers from Camp Lou Henry Hoover will have the chance to see what life is like at Camp Farnsworth in Thetord, VT and what connects us as Girl Scouts.

Mountains to Shore is the first time that Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey has organized an exchange program with Camp Farnsworth of Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains and we are extremely excited for this new opportunity.   For two weeks, the twelve girls (six from each camp) and their staff will have the opportunity to visit exciting places in the area and share in the camping experience.

The trips to local sites may include embarking on a Ben & Jerry’s factory tour, exploring the Vermont Teddy Bear Company, visiting the Statue of Liberty or canoeing on the Delaware River. But the true experience of this program will be what bonds us all together as Girl Scouts.

Both Camp Hoover and Camp Farnsworth have traditional camp activities including swimming, boating, arts and crafts, and more. It is going to be fun to see what makes each of our camps unique and what things unite us together.  Already the six spots are filled and these young ladies are looking forward to this exciting adventure.  We can’t wait to have them share their adventures and experiences with us at the end of their stay.

Is your daughter looking for a unique camp experience where they can attend two different camps? Then Camp Twist with the OVAL or Day and Away with GSNNJ is for your daughter.

A week or more at summer camp can be one of the best experiences your daughter can ever have! What are you waiting for? We have a ton a fun planned for the summer.
