Non-Troop Volunteer Opportunities

When someone thinks about volunteering for Girl Scouts, usually their minds immediately go to being a Troop Leader. While that's a popular way to volunteer your time with the girls, there are many other ways you can help make an impact in a Girl Scouts' life. Keep reading for more information on exciting non-troop volunteer opportunities!

Troop Family and Friends
If you feel like you want to explore other avenues away from becoming a troop leader or co-leader, consider helping out with other necessary tasks. Assist with driving the girls to a program, help plan fun activities, be the one everyone can count on to bring snacks, tackle the money-management aspect of the troop, or take on other projects essential to keep the troop running oh-so-smoothly from week to week.

Cookie Volunteers
You can also become a cookie volunteer! Now that it's cookie season, becoming a cookie volunteer is more exciting than ever. You can help coordinate the annual cookie sale at the troop level, set up cookie booths, manage cookie inventory and supervise money, among other things. The best part? Watching the girls light up when they earn the rewards for being the best cookie sellers ever!

Service Unit Volunteers
A service unit is a team of volunteers who work together in a unique geographic area to provide support to troop leaders. You can get involved in recruiting and retaining members (both at the girl and adult levels), promote the Girl Scout mission, work on community service projects, plan local events and award ceremonies—the opportunities are endless! You can also help mentor adult volunteers as they work with Girl Scouts to create memories they will never forget.

Camp/Seasonal Volunteers
Being a camp / seasonal volunteer is a unique way to get involved in the Girl Scouting community. If you like the outdoors, this volunteer opportunity would be perfect for you! You can help the girls explore the environment with a nature hike, spend time learning outdoors, and take part in fun sports, games, and outside activities.

Whether you can give a few hours, a few weeks, or a few months, volunteering with Girl Scouts is flexible and fun. Interested in signing up? Volunteer Today!
