As part of their Take Action project for the Senior Journey "Sow What," six Senior Girl Scouts split into groups of two and set up three stations along the hiking trail. The first Senior pair taught the younger scouts about the deficit of clean water in the world and gave the participants a water bottle to use in the future. The second pair educated the younger scouts about the distance food travels and the importance of being aware of how far food is traveling before it gets to their dinner table. At that station, the participants received cups of fruit grown in the Tri-State area. The final pair informed the scouts about the importance of eating healthy and the benefits of organic foods and each participant enjoyed a cupcake made with organic ingredients.
The Senior Girl Scouts enjoyed running an activity for the younger scouts and would like to thank the 15 participants for helping to make this a successful day!
