Cookie Rally Re-Cap

Every year, we count down the days to Girl Scout Cookie Season. This year, our initial order period starts on Saturday, January 16th! If you've never been to one of our annual cookie rallies, you're missing out on some serious fun.

The primary idea behind a cookie rally is to get the girls excited about the upcoming cookie season. They're able to gather with their sister Girl Scouts, learn how to talk to customers, taste test their favorite cookies, get a peek at cookie incentives, go over some of the requirements for different cookie-related badges they can earn, and take part in fun activities designed to give them the skills to be a Cookie Boss. The girls also earned a fun patch and a 2016 Cookie Pin for participating in the event!

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is designed to teach Girl Scouts skills to grow into leaders and build a strong foundation for success by learning the Five Skills:

numbers
Goal Setting: Sets cookie sales goals individually and, with her team, creates a plan to reach them. She develops cooperation and team building skills all along the way.

Decision Making: Helps decide how her team spends their cookie money, furthering critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Money Management: Takes cookie orders, handles customers’ money, and gains valuable and practical life skills around financial literacy.
number4_32
People Skills: Learns how to talk to, listen to and work with all kinds of people while selling cookies. These experiences help her develop healthy relationships and conflict resolution skills that she can use throughout her life.

Business Ethics: Be honest and responsible at every step of the cookie sale. Her business ethics reinforce the positive values she is developing as a Girl Scout.

This year, we had a troop of Cadettes (grades 6-8) help us run the event, which showed an amazing sense of leadership and camaraderie.

One of our favorite parts of our Cookie Rally was the photo booth. We had a ton of fun things for the girls to dress up in: sunglasses, feather boas, necklaces, hats, and cookie costumes!

We already can't wait for next year's Cookie Rally!
