30 Days of Good Deeds: Troops #12779 & #12933 Made Valentine's Treats!
A week before Valentine's Day, Weehawken Troop #12779 (Multi level Daisy-Junior) and Troop #12933 (Multi level Cadette-Ambassador) got together to prepare surprise Valentine's Day bags for a Senior Citizen Housing Building in town.
The girls—under the direction of their leaders and parent assistants—made homemade heart-shaped lollipops and candy, chocolate-dipped marshmallows, heart-shaped dream catchers as well as water-colored Valentine's in the shape of hearts!
At their meeting the week of Valentine's Day, the group packaged these surprises into hanging Valentine bags to secretly place on the tenants' doors on Saturday February 13th just in time for Valentine's Day. The girls wanted the residents to wake up knowing that they were loved and being thought of!
Despite the freezing temperatures the Saturday before Valentine's Day, five young scouts braved the cold to complete this task and everyone was touched by their random acts of kindness.
