This past Saturday, Comcast partnered with Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey for the second year in a row for Comcast Cares Day. Comcast Cares Day is a global initiative sponsored by Comcast to help give back to the community. The team came out to our day camp, The OVAL, to help get the camp ready for summer!
Enthusiastic Comcast staff from the Union, New Jersey location—along with their friends and families and Girl Scout troop volunteers—spent the day on Saturday, April 30th helping renovate The OVAL in Maplewood, NJ.
With over 200 volunteers and a DJ keeping the group energized, cabins were given a fresh coat of paint, custom benches were designed and built for the fire ring, leaves were cleared away from cabins and trails, cabins were cleaned, and trees were trimmed. The much-needed renovations helped ready The OVAL for the start of the camping season.
The work day was a great success and volunteers are looking forward to returning to camp next year!
