30 Days of Good Deeds: Troop #40188 Spread Holiday Cheer

As Brownies, girls are able to expand their group of friends, learn more about what it means to be a Girl Scout, and take part in meaningful community service projects. Troop #40188 came together to put smiles on the faces of 50 local senior citizens over the holiday season. How'd they do that? Keep reading to learn more about their project!

A group of wonderful Brownies from Hillside Troop #40188 collected household items and spread holiday cheer to 50 Hillside Senior Citizens.

The 11 Brownies decided they didn't want to just donate the items, and since it was Christmastime, they chose to make stockings for each senior citizen. They formed an efficient assembly line at one of their meetings to fill each stocking with the collected goodies! On Christmas Eve, the girls delivered the stockings to the seniors and sang Christmas carols to them! The senior citizens reported that their spirits were lifted and it was encouraging to see that the Girl Scouts wanted to spend time with them.

The Brownies took away an important lesson and reported that they not only felt good about helping others, but they felt even better about themselves and what they did for their community.

Is your Troop doing something amazing? Do you know a Girl Scout who is making a change in her community? Fill out this easy form to submit your Good Deed!
